Here are some ideas and resources to help you with the next stage of the unit. This is where you start to take over. You have all chosen a form of art to explore. Use the rubric to guide you.
1. Precept #12. Think about our unit of inquiry and the art form you have chosen. Add your comments to the blog.
2. Conversation starter - Who or what exemplifies the meaning of “love” to you? 3. Khan Academy 4. Work on one of your targets This week we have been looking at the elements of art and the impact they have on a piece of art work. You have also begun to think about the art form you would like to pursue during this unit of inquiry. Some of the elements may be appropriate to your art form but if they are not then you are going to have to do some research. Ms Alisha has found some resources that may be of use to you.
If you want to find out more about the elements of art then check out the google doc Nabeel has created. It will be a great help to some of you when you are creating your rubrics for your piece of art.
Nation's Ode to the CoastDr John Cooper Clarke A big fat sky and a thousand shrieks The tide arrives and the timber creaks A world away from the working week Où est la vie nautique? That’s where the sea comes in… Dishevelled shells and shovelled sands, Architecture all unplanned A spade ‘n’ bucket wonderland A golden space, a Frisbee and The kids and dogs can run and run And not run in to anyone Way out! Real gone! That’s where the sea comes in… Impervious to human speech, idle time and tidal reach Some memories you can’t impeach That’s where the sea comes in A nice cuppa splosh and a round of toast A cursory glance at the morning post A pointless walk along the coast That’s what floats my boat the most That’s where the sea comes in… Now, voyager - once resigned Go forth to seek and find The hazy days you left behind Right there in the back of your mind Where lucid dreams begin With rolling dunes and rattling shale The shoreline then a swollen sail Picked out by a shimmering halo That’s where the sea comes in… Could this be luck by chance? Eternity in a second glance A universe beyond romance That’s where the sea comes in… Yeah, that’s where the sea comes in…

Lost Generation by Jonathan Reed Tone - What the author wants you to feel Mood - What you feel If I Were In Charge Of The World - Poem by Judith Viorst If I were in charge of the world I'd cancel oatmeal, Monday mornings, Allergy shots, and also Sara Steinberg. If I were in charge of the world There'd be brighter nights lights, Healthier hamsters, and Basketball baskets forty eight inches lower. If I were in charge of the world You wouldn't have lonely. You wouldn't have clean. You wouldn't have bedtimes. Or "Don't punch your sister." You wouldn't even have sisters. If I were in charge of the world A chocolate sundae with whipped cream and nuts would be a vegetable All 007 movies would be G, And a person who sometimes forgot to brush, And sometimes forgot to flush, Would still be allowed to be In charge of the world. Judith Viorst If I were in charge of the world by Dev If I were in charge of the world I'd cancel playing football and any annoying people. If I were in charge of the world There'd be only math and tech zones everywhere and trillions of free books and technology equipment. If I were in charge of the world You wouldn't have any other games except tankionline You wouldn't have any cricket team winning except India. You wouldn't have to go shopping. You can just click and you would have everything you want. Parents would have to obey children. SPOKEN POETRY
